SmackDown Numbers Drop But Remain Strong; Rampage bounces back a bit

The ratings fell for June 24.

Smack down saw its overall viewership and demographic ranking among 18-49 year olds decline from the big numbers the previous Friday. But even without Vince McMahon, Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar, the blue brand still achieved some of its best numbers since April. Viewership was 2.23 million, less than 3% lower than June 17. The number of demos of 0.53 was 7% lower than the previous week. The only TV show to get better ratings than WWE was ABC’s coverage of the Stanley Cup Finals. The hockey game was watched by 5.15 million people and drew 1.49 in 18-49.

CarnageThe numbers were still not great, but they were better than the previous Friday’s record lows. Viewership soared 28% to 422,000 — still not as good as the show did in its first week at 10 p.m. ET on June 10, but at least headed in that direction. Ditto for the demo number. The Forbidden Door the .12 going home was a 20% increase week-over-week, but not back to where it was even when TNT bounced it around the schedule. Carnage finished 26th among Cable Originals last week.

It’s WWE’s turn to have a homecoming show this week. Neither show will face nationally televised professional sports competition — this Friday, or any Friday for quite a while.

We’ll see how they do.
