Late Friday night, Aaron Carter shared a live Instagram broadcast of himself getting a tattoo on his face. He then posted a photo of the tattoo on Instagram on Saturday morning.

The photo shows the 31-year-old singer with a huge tattoo covering the right side of his face. The tattoo appears to represent Medusa the Gorgon from Greek fables. In ancient Greek mythology, Medusa is a winged female monster with poisonous snakes on her head instead of hair, and people looking at her face are turned to stone.

“I’m the biggest thing in music right now. I cannot be denied. Check me out, ”the former child star captioned the Instagram photo.

In another photo, he is shown admiring his new tattoo in the mirror.

Some fans believed the tattoo was based on a photo of Rihanna taken while posing for men’s magazine GQ in 2013. She was represented as Medusa the Gorgon in the photo shoot.

Suggestion Carter’s face tattoo was inspired by Rihanna’s GQ shoot seems to be confirmed when some sources reported that Carter’s tattoo artist was shown on Friday’s Instagram livestream creating a sketch using a photo of Rihanna’s face from the magazine before starting to work on Carter’s face.

Friday’s livestream had many fans worried about Carter’s sanity.

Police came to Carter’s home during the live broadcast after fans reportedly called to say he had a “medical emergency.” according to MailOnline. But the officers left after having a brief conversation with the singer who later announced he was being harassed by fans.

And it’s not just the fans who are worried about Carter’s sanity. Members of Aaron’s family, including his brother, Nick Carter, 39, Backstreet Boys star, and twin sister Angel, 31, have expressed concern over his “increasingly alarming behavior” and have obtained restrictive orders against him. Nick claimed on social media that Aaron admitted he had “thoughts and intentions to kill my pregnant wife and unborn child.”

Aaron launched a series of tweets in response:

The incident comes after Aaron appeared on The Doctors talk show earlier this month, during which he spoke about his sanity.

“The official diagnosis is that I have multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, acute anxiety; I am manic-depressive ” he said. “I am prescribed for Xanax, Seroquel, gabapentin, hydroxyzine, trazodone, omeprazole.”
