Santa Fe National Forest is hiring temporary recreation and archeology positions for 2023

The Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) is hiring temporary recreation positions for the 2023 season for Developed Recreation, Wilderness and Trails. The SFNF Heritage Program is also hiring Archeology Technicians for the 2023 field season.

Recreation Technician – SFNF duty stations: Coyote, Cuba, Española, Jemez Springs, Pecos

Positions are available at each duty station at all GS class levels 3, 4 or 5. Public housing may be available. Working in the recreation program gives you the opportunity to positively influence the outdoor experience of visitors.

Trail/wildlife duties include trail clearing, maintenance, resource surveys and visitor contact. Recreational tasks developed include the maintenance and improvement of recreational sites and the provision of information on recreational opportunities, regulations and limitations.

Archeology Technician – SFNF duty stations: Española, Jemez Springs, Pecos, Santa Fe

Positions are available at each duty station at all GS grade levels 5, 6 or 7. Public housing may be available. Archaeological technicians assisting the Heritage Program with surveying, site recording and documentation through the forest for a variety of projects.
