Poll: What is the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ best album?

From their funky melodies to the gibberish vocals of Anthony Kiedis in some of their songs, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of rock ‘n’ roll’s most unique bands. They’ve released a total of 12 albums throughout their career so far, but which one is the best? That’s what we want to hear from you in this week’s Loudwire Nights Album of the Week poll.

You will have until Friday at 12 N ET to vote. We will then play the three songs from the album with the most votes during the Loudwire Nights Album of the Week block to start the show the following Monday!

The Chili Peppers have been through a lot in their first decade as a band. Their first album Hot red peppers was released in 1984, and their next two records weird style and The Mofo Uplift Party Plan have been plagued by some of the members’ serious battles with drug addiction — a battle that founding guitarist Hillel Slovak tragically succumbed to in 1988.

Kiedis had been in rehab at the time, but the band recovered and completed their training just in time to start working on Breastmilk, which was released in 1989 and was their highest charting album, peaking at number 52 on the Billboard 200. This streak of commercial success continued with the 1991s Sex Magik blood sugar, which reached No. 3.

Their next two records also landed in the Top 5 of the chart, then those of 2006 Stadium Arcadium became their first to reach the top. Since, I agree and the getaway both peaked at No. 2 and 2022 Unlimited love debuted at No. 1. It also marked the return of John Frusciante on guitar, who left in 2009 and was replaced by Josh Klinghoffer.

The RHCP’s North American tour in support of Unlimited love kicks off July 23 in Denver, Colorado. You can buy tickets here, and in the meantime, head below to vote for your favorite album, then tune in Wired Nights next Monday at 7 p.m. ET to find out which record prevailed. During tonight’s show, you’ll find out which AC/DC album was voted best and hear three songs from the winner.

Loudwire Nights with Toni Gonzalez airs nightly starting at 7 p.m. ET. You can connect anytime, from anywhere here or by downloading the Loudwire app.
