Machine Gun Kelly says next album is deeper and richer in guitar

Now that it’s been a minute since we’ve had any updates on the Machine Gun Kelly-Corey Taylor feud – which you can see a summary of here – we can go back to the report on MGK’s music, especially its upcoming one. album. Born with horns, which, according to the musician, is deeper and richer in guitar than its previous version.

Kelly’s studio album 2020 Tickets for My Fall marked his transition from rapper to rocker, and the album topped the Billboard 200. However, in an interview on Sunday today with Willie Geist [via Billboard], he teased that the next album, on which he again collaborated with Travis Barker, will contrast the light pop-punk sound of Tickets.

Sure it’s heavier on the guitar, the lyrics definitely go deeper – but I never like to do anything like that, “Kelly said.” Each album is a juxtaposition of the last album. So I went to study Tickets, and I heard the brilliant sound that I had, and for this album I just turned the lights off.

“I am no longer afraid, nothing prevents me from being my real self – and my real self cannot be silenced, cannot be held back,” he continued. “It’s a force, it’s like a hurricane. I can’t stop this, it continues until I want to stop, and I don’t want to stop anytime soon . “

MGK released the song “Papercuts” from the album in August, and you can certainly feel that there is a darker vibe than anything on their previous album. Later in the interview, he said there would be something new to listen to on New Years Day – whether it’s another song or the full album, we’re not sure.

Until we hear some new material, you can check out Kelly’s upcoming tour dates to see if he’s playing near you.
