Flydubai adds flights to six new vacation destinations in Italy, Turkey and the Greek Islands

Low-cost airline flydubai has announced new seasonal summer routes to six popular vacation destinations.

The UAE low cost airline will start flying from Dubai to the Greek islands of Santorini and Mykonos from June 18, to Bodrum and Trabzon in Turkey on June 4 and 24 respectively, and to Naples in Italy and Salzburg in Austria in July.

“Travel demand has started to increase as more countries gradually lift restrictions on international travel,” said Ghaith Al Ghaith, managing director of flydubai.

Flydubai is also restarting seasonal flights to Batumi, Georgia from Friday, June 25. It will be the airline’s second destination in the country, with flights already operating to the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.

In Montenegro, flydubai will restart its seasonal services to Tivat from Friday 25 June. The country has reopened its doors to tourists from the UAE, with only a negative PCR test required to enter.

Greek island jump

The Dubai airline will begin operating flights to the Greek islands of Santorini and Mykonos from Friday, June 18.

The must-see Mykonos is a vacation favorite thanks to its excellent food scene and vibrant nightlife, while Santorini holds the crown of the country’s best sunsets.

The recently announced vaccination corridor between the United Arab Emirates and Greece means fully vaccinated travelers can go without quarantine at either end of their trip.

Flydubai operates three weekly flights to the Greek Islands until Wednesday, September 29. Flights are operated via codeshare with Emirates and will depart from Dubai International Airport Terminal 3 for Mykonos, before heading to Santorini.

Return flights operate via a stop in Mykonos. Flights are scheduled to fly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and fares start from Dh2,500 in economy class and Dh8,000 round trip in business class.

Flydubai is also launching new flights to popular holiday destinations in Turkey.

Bodrum, the main gateway to the Turkish Riviera, will be served by two flights per week from Friday June 4. Economy fares start from Dh1,600 and Business tickets will cost from Dh6,000.

Flydubai flights to Trabzon, a popular city on the Black Sea coast in northeastern Turkey, will launch on Thursday, June 24 and will continue throughout the summer with three weekly flights through September. Flights will depart Dubai on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and economy fares start from 1,600 dirhams round trip.

Salzburg is another new route for flydubai. Known as one of the best-preserved city centers north of the Alps, the pretty Austrian town is on the low-cost airline’s schedule from July, with economy fares starting at Dh 1,995.

The exact launch date has not yet been confirmed but flights are already on sale from Thursday, July 1. Austria is currently only open to tourists from the listed countries, and the UAE is not yet on this list, but it will likely be updated before July.

The Italian city of Naples is also included for the first time in the flydubai summer network, with services starting in July and low prices starting at Dh 2,355.

Those wishing to visit the birthplace of pizza will have to wait for more details on Italy’s reopening to UAE tourists. One of the countries hardest hit by the first wave of the global pandemic, Italy has reopened to some travelers, but is working to open up to other visitors in time for the summer.

Flydubai currently has flights on sale from Saturday, July 31, but that could change.
