easyJet passengers have faced travel chaos after the airline canceled more than 200 flights over the weekend, with disruption expected to continue this week as Britons head out for the Easter holiday.
The airline blamed the disruption on “higher than usual levels of employee illness” due to Covid, with at least 222 easyJet flights having been canceled since Friday.

Can I get a refund from easyJet if they cancel my flight?
If your flight was canceled by the airline in this case then yes you are legally entitled to a refund.
In fact, you are entitled to either a full refund or rebooking on another flight to your destination. The airline may also offer you a voucher to use for a future booking – you can choose this option if you wish, but if you prefer a full refund, you are entitled to this.
According to the Citizens Advice Bureau, a full refund also includes “other airline flights that you will not be using in the same booking, such as outbound or return flights.”
If you are halfway through a trip, you also have the right to return to your original departure airport.
It should be noted that if you received less than two weeks’ notice for the cancellation and you are offered an alternative flight which delays you by at least two hours, you may also be entitled to compensation.

How do I know which flights are cancelled?
easyJet said it was contacting affected passengers to offer options such as refunds and alternative flights.
One of the easiest ways to check if your flight is being affected by delays or cancellations is to use easyJet flight tracking. Simply enter your flight number or the destination and departure airports, and it will give you a quick overview of the flight status.
You can also log into your easyJet online booking where you can find the latest updates on your upcoming trip.
Unfortunately the disruption has seen flights canceled on short notice, so if you need to travel in the next few days it’s worth keeping an eye on your booking – although the airline should contact you directly if your holiday is affected .
Usually in these cases travel companies give priority to those with imminent travel needs, so if your easyJet flight is not in the next few days you may have to wait closer to the time for a update.
