Canceled easyJet flights put thousands of UK holiday plans at risk

Thousands of UK travel plans could be in jeopardy after it was announced that a strike would take place at Italy over a 24 hour period.

The strike, which is taking place over a dispute over wages, has forced some 200 flights to cancel, affecting dozens of places like Rome and Milan across the European nation.

The strike is led by air traffic control personnel in Italy.

Italy’s state-owned airline ITA announced that 13 other flights to and from London had also been cancelled.

However, airline bosses in easyJet say they are working to ensure travel plans go through by transferring affected passengers to alternative flights.

The low-cost airline has told passengers to expect delays and cancellations, but has yet to confirm all flights affected by the wave of industrial action.

Like most airlines operating at destination and coming from Italy, we may experience disruptions to our flight schedule on that date.

“We advise customers traveling to, from or within Italy on Friday 21 October to allow extra time for travel to and from the airport and to check the status of their flights on our Flight Tracker.”
